Adult ADHD Assessment

Many adults live with ADHD for years without ever realising it.

They may have always felt overwhelmed, distracted, disorganised, emotionally reactive, or constantly behind — despite being intelligent, capable, and highly motivated. Many describe feeling as though they are always working harder than everyone else just to keep up.

ADHD Assessment

ADHD in adults often looks very different to the stereotypical hyperactive child. It may present as chronic procrastination, difficulty following through, poor time management, emotional overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, poor sleep, racing thoughts, or feeling constantly on.

At Vitality Solutions, we offer structured adult ADHD assessments using the Kolesky-ADHD-EFA™ — a comprehensive pre-consultation instrument developed by Dr Kolesky specifically for use in general practice.

Common Signs of Adult ADHD

Adult ADHD can affect people very differently. Common symptoms may include:

  • Difficulty concentrating or staying focused
  • Procrastination and poor follow-through
  • Chronic disorganisation
  • Frequently losing or forgetting things
  • Poor time management or running late
  • Restlessness or difficulty relaxing
  • Racing thoughts
  • Impulsive decisions
  • Emotional sensitivity or mood swings
  • Difficulty sleeping or switching off
  • Feeling overwhelmed by ordinary tasks
  • Starting multiple projects but rarely finishing them
  • Burnout from constantly compensating

Many adults with ADHD also experience anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties, perfectionism, or difficulty regulating stress. ADHD is particularly underdiagnosed in women, high achievers, and people who have learned to mask their symptoms.

How It Works

Before your appointment, you and someone who knows you well — a partner, parent, sibling, close friend, or long-term colleague — each complete a structured questionnaire independently at home. Dr Kolesky reviews the scored results before your consultation.

Your appointment is a 60-minute consultation with Dr Kolesky. Depending on the clinical findings, a follow-up appointment may be recommended before any prescribing decision is made.

This service is for adults aged 18 and over. Paediatric ADHD is not assessed through this service.

What Comes Next

Following your assessment, Dr Kolesky will discuss the findings with you and the most appropriate next steps — which may include further investigation, medication, lifestyle and nutritional support, or a combination.

For many people, finally understanding why they have struggled for so long is the beginning of real change.

The Kolesky-ADHD-EFA™ is a structured clinical screening instrument and does not constitute a diagnosis. Clinical interpretation and all management decisions remain the responsibility of your treating practitioner.
