WHAT IS PRP REGROW
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a person’s own blood plasma to promote hair growth. As the PRP is rich in proteins (called growth factors), it has the ability to promote cell repair and tissue regeneration. When PRP is injected into the scalp, it delivers a concentrated dose of growth factors that can stimulate dormant hair follicles, encouraging hair regeneration. It may also help to reduce inflammation and improve blood flow to the scalp, and prolongs the growth phase of the hair cycle in the process.
PRP can be used as a new therapeutic option for hair loss including androgenetic alopecia and female pattern hair loss, either as a monotherapy or an adjuvant to conventional therapy. PRP is also considered a safe, effective, steroid sparing, and alternative treatment for alopecia areata.
It is important to note that PRP therapy is not a once-off solution, and most people require several sessions to achieve visible hair regrowth. We typically recommend three to four PRP sessions spaced four to six weeks apart for optimal results, with an additional maintenance treatment every or six to twelve months.
