DESCRIPTION
ThyroMist is a practitioner-grade oral spray delivering 295 micrograms of iodine (as potassium iodide) and 25 micrograms of selenium (as selenomethionine) in a single daily spray, formulated to maintain healthy thyroid gland function, aid thyroid hormone production and support body metabolism and energy production. Iodine is the substrate for thyroid hormone synthesis, and selenium is required by the deiodinase enzymes involved in thyroid hormone production. The spray format removes the tablet burden entirely, which suits patients with swallowing difficulty, high pill loads, or poor adherence. This medicine contains selenium which is toxic in high doses. A daily dose of 150 micrograms for adults of selenium from dietary supplements should not be exceeded.
