The Benefits of NAD Infusions
When NAD is given intravenously, it restores the cellular energy system which in turn increases energy, relieves mood disturbances, and reduces pain, and helps with recovery from addiction. NAD helps enzymes in our body convert food into energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Studies suggest that some people with chronic fatigue and related conditions have low levels of ATP.
Research also shows that NAD can stimulate brain function, thereby slowing the cognitive decline that is often associated with ageing and neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s disease, dementia and the like. It vastly improves brain fog, leading to increased mental clarity, memory, and concentration, and may help alleviate the cognitive dysfunction associated with these chronic conditions.
NAD reduces internal inflammation, reduces oxidative stress, boosts your metabolism and increases your energy levels. NAD may reduce fatigue associated with stress and chronic disease by restoring the function of the mitochondria (tiny powerhouses within cells). These chronic conditions are believed to involve mitochondrial dysfunction. As a result, it can have dramatic effects on chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, post-viral fatigue including long COVID, as well as auto-immune and other inflammatory disorders.
NAD is a great booster for anyone who leads an active, busy, and stressful life! Let’s face it, who these days, doesn’t? It enhances the endurance and performance of athletes and aids in the recovery post injury or following intense, strenuous, or prolonged exercise.
Personally, I have seen tremendous improvements in many of my patients with NAD therapy, in combination with other integrative approaches. It has helped me recover from debilitating fatigue, brain fog and insomnia, as well as long COVID.
