What Can Be Treated with Bio Balance?

Methylation Disorders

The methylation cycle is one of the most critical (and often misunderstood) biological processes in the body - influencing our ability to detox, produce energy, regulate our immune system and repair DNA. It also affects neurotransmitter production and activity. When our ability to methylate is influenced by genetics, it is often associated with a dysregulation of emotion, often leading to an increased risk of depression, schizophrenia, OCD and Alzheimers. We can evaluate your methylation status and address this.

Copper Overload

Women with copper overload depression often suffer with high anxiety and may have a history of having adverse reactions to contraception, bad premenstrual syndrome (PMS) or premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), postnatal depression (PND) or mood issues related to menopause. They may also be suffering with other symptoms of excess oestrogen, like ovarian cysts, endometriosis, breast or uterine cancer, uterine fibroids or heavy menstrual flow. If you suffer from other hormonal imbalances like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), you should also be tested for copper overload.

In men and children, the picture can often look slightly different and can lead to issues with outbursts of rage/anger, impulsivity, focus and attention disorders, but also panic, anxiety and depression. Patient with elevated copper can often complain of brain fog or fibromyalgia and this condition is often also associated with adrenal issues.

Pyrrole Disorder/Pyrroluria

Mood instability can often be labeled as behavioural disorders, rapidly cycling bipolar disorder, anxiety or depression. Symptoms are typically most evident in the younger years, however if you have always felt anxious (even if you hide it well), you might be suffering from pyrrole disorder. Pyrrole molecules have little or no function in the body and is excreted in our urine. Usually this is no big deal, however in a person who has pyrrole disorder, it might affect them a great deal, as pyrroles strip important nutrients that are critical cofactors for neurotransmitter production out of our system. Pyrroles are also a marker for oxidative stress or overload.

Pyrrole disorder is becoming more well known in the general community, but is still relatively unknown in the general medical community. It is easily treatable and is the fastest of the chemical imbalances to correct.

QUT, Bio Balance Health, and Applied Analytical Laboratories, has announced the publication of the peer reviewed paper, Pyrroles as a Potential Biomarker for Oxidative Stress Disorders in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences - special edition on Schizophrenia and novel targets.

Focus and Attention Syndrome

Otherwise known as ADD/ADHD, patients who suffer from these conditions often have distinct biochemical imbalances: abnormal methylation, high copper and yeast toxicity. There is very strong evidence for these conditions being epigenetic disorders, meaning that our genes can be influenced by environmental factors such as diet and lifestyle, amongst others. This is also evidenced by the fact that diet and nutrients supplementation can greatly affect the behaviour and mood in patients who suffer from focus and attention syndromes (FAS).

Whilst all of this might sound completely foreign to you, it is worth considering that there might be help and hope out there - that we can actually do something to help you or someone you love that might be struggling with an invisible, but often debilitating condition - one that nobody wants to talk about. We are happy to listen and to help.
